What Will Your Experience Look Like at Omnia Health?

Functional Medicine is a new way of medicine. Understandably, we get a lot of questions about how we work. We do work differently than your typical doctor’s office in the Denver area!

The average patient spends twenty minutes or less with their primary care doctor each year. In that timeframe, you should be getting a physical exam and have enough time to talk to your practitioner about your health story.

From personal experience as well as hearing from others, 20 minutes is not enough time to feel heard and seen, listened to, and understood by your doctor. At Omnia Health, our practitioners spend 60 to 75 minutes with you to have in-depth conversations about your health challenges and lifestyle factors.

Here’s What to Expect When You Visit our Denver Office: 

Health History Forms

Functional Medicine is about that deeper dive and that’s why we ask you to complete health history forms. We want to know if you were born full-term or premature; were you breastfed or bottle fed; what’s your dental history; what type of environmental toxins have you been exposed to, how are your relationships etc.?

These questions are an important part of our Functional Medicine approach. They are extensive and may take you a couple of hours to complete but we get a lot of important information from them. These are required to be completed before your first appointment with the practitioners.

Your Initial Consultation – Where Functional Medicine Begins

Your first appointment is called the Initial Consultation. This appointment is substantially longer than a conventional doctor’s visit. Dr. Jacquelyn Pariset and/or our Nurse Practitioner, Jennifer (Gia) Jurevich will chat with you for 75 minutes listening and learning about your specific needs and goals.

In this appointment you will have a physical exam, an in-depth review of your health history, current health concerns, lifestyle, diet and recommended next steps.

What comes next? Your blood work appointment is what propels your health journey at Omnia Health. Your testing recommendations are discussed at your Initial Consultation and then we get your blood work appointment on our books! Conveniently, your blood work appointment is done at our office.

On the day of your blood draw we will give you take-home tests as well. These will be your responsibility for completing on your own. It takes about 4-5 weeks for all your test results to get back to us.

Now is the Time You Get Some Answers!

Once all your tests come back, we schedule you for your Case Review. In this appointment, the practitioners will review all of your test results in another 75 minute appointment.

During this time you will receive a personalized health plan that addresses:

  • Nutrition
  • Necessary supplements to address underlying issues
  • Relevant medication changes
  • Lifestyle recommendations such as sleep habits, weight management, exercise plans, and stress management.


Your Health Care Team

Your Omnia healthcare team works collaboratively to give you the effective and thoughtful care you deserve. Your team includes your doctor, nurse practitioner, health coaches, and the front desk staff. We want you to know that you are not alone in this process. Functional medicine really is a team approach!

After your case review, you have three, 60-minute follow-up visits with an Omnia Practitioner. You also have 6 hours of health-coaching appointments. We want to ensure that you get the support that you need. Our health coaches help guide and hold you accountable as you transition your lifestyle to fit your health goals.

We recognize that we ask our patients to implement new health habits and we know that implementing these lifestyle changes can be overwhelming. That’s where our health coaching comes. They will provide you with motivation, accountability and resources to help you.

The front desk staff can help you schedule appointments and lab visits as well as answer questions about your membership, insurance reimbursement, testing, or supplements. Together, we’re here to support you along your health journey!

Helpful tips 

  • We do not take any insurance! However, a front office team member can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. Many patients choose to pay for their plans using FSA/HSA. If this is something you would like to try, please ask the front office.
  • Please bring recent and pertinent medical records to your initial consultation.
